Never thought a day would come when we all will be meeting almost once in a year. There were times when we used to meet daily in college. Some of us made a point to meet even when we started working. But change is the essence of life. And so, things changed. Some of us got married, went abroad etc. It’s nice to see that even after so many years, we still are the same as we were in college. Age has not affected our minds J
I was really excited to meet everyone in Amit’s wedding. However, soon because of circumstances, I thought I wouldn’t be able to make it for the wedding. I had never travelled alone with Dhriti in India. So, I dropped the plan of making it for the wedding. Then, an idea struck and I thought of asking Shweta or Anup if they could help me out with this. And as always my friends came to my rescue. So, a plan was chalked out and everything was finalized. I had booked train tickets for 14thNovemeber’11 from Pune to Kalyan. Planned to stay overnight at Anup’s place and then return by bus after the wedding.
The day came and everything was set. I was anxious about how will things be as this was the first time that I was travelling alone with Dhriti to Mumbai. As soon Dhriti was back from her school, I made her eat her lunch and then we left for Pune station. She was super excited to travel by train. I called almost everyone to say that I have boarded the train. As soon as train started, vendors selling tea, coffee, vada, idli etc. starting pouring in. And Dhriti started repeating what the vendors were saying and that too loudly. Everyone was having fun time looking at Dhriti. Some people even started playing with her. The best part of the journey was when I took her to the toilet; she started screaming for the train to stop. Rashmi came to fetch us at Kalyan station. Dhriti was very comfortable with Rashmi, Aunty and Anup. We all had our dinner, had some conversation and then went off to sleep. The mode of transport by which I will come back to Pune was still a question. Next day, Anup suggested that I go by train and so the reservation was done. Then, we all left for the wedding. It’s always fun to meet friends. Mithil, Shweta, Manan came together. Alam and Farida came a bit late. We all missed Alok, Nirlep, Sheetal, Pramod, Bhushan and Deepali. Amit and Pradnya looked beautiful as a couple. Amit’s expressions were awesome as he was trying to smile while he had lots of apprehension and confusion in his mind. Now waiting for Pramod's and Manan's turn. We all thoroughly enjoyed each other’s company. We left for Kalyan at around 3:15pm and it was already late as my train was at 4:40pm and we still had to print ticket. Anup drove the car as fast as he could. But, the Indian Railways website did not open at any of the cyber cafes. So, we rushed to Anup’s home. Anup copied the ticket pages onto his pen drive. Meanwhile I got ready and Rashmi gave Dhriti’s bournvita. We left for station at 4:20pm. Anup took print out of the ticket on our way to station. We ran all the way from platform number one to platform number four. It was like a mini-marathon. We reached at 4:35pm. I boarded my train and was back to Pune by 7:20pm. What an eventful journey it was. And now Dhriti can also sing – Jhug Jhug aagin gaadi….mama cha gavala jaau yaa J
Its time that we all plan a trip guys….Hope this time everyone will try to make it. Love you all.
